Printable
Before Teslin® sheet, it was difficult to perform high-quality printing on a synthetic sheet. These days, richness and accuracy of color can be achieved by using Teslin® sheet. The porous nature of Teslin® sheet renders the sheet highly absorptive, allowing inks to set almost instantly. Inks penetrate the surface and anchor themselves in the sheet's structure, yielding superb print definition and pigment holdout.

Durable
Teslin® sheet is made for durable applications and harsh environments, so it's perfect for labels and tags. It can be washed and even steam-pressed. And its ruggedness provides abrasion-resistance during packing and shipping. Teslin® sheet is bright white and features excellent opacity, which makes it perfect for printing bar codes. Highspeed scanning machines find Teslin® sheet an "easy read." It die-cuts easily – great for apparel tags. And for labels, it expands and contracts during the filling step.

Waterproof
The fact that Teslin® sheet is waterproof makes it the material to use for a wide range of special applications, large and small; including banners, pennants, maps, and point-of-purchase materials. It can stand up to the elements while maintaining its good form and integrity. Teslin® sheet holds its shape and delivers fine graphics. Teslin® sheet can be stitched and grommeted; it can lay flat, drape, and roll. It also allows for quality offset printing - which is difficult to acheive using other sheets that claim weather-resistant traits.

Secure
Teslin® sheet, a single-layer uncoated film, is the most secure bonding sheet that exists for toners, inks, adhesives, coatings, and laminating films of all types. The lamination peel strength of Teslin® sheet is between two and six times that of coated papers or other synthetic stocks. It requires no edge seal to produce a durable, tamper-proof piece. For identification cards, licenses, and important travel documents, Teslin® sheet remains secure.

Adaptable
Teslin® sheet is amazingly versatile. You can print fixed information offset or flexo. Later, you can add variable information with thermal transfer, laser, or ink jet. Teslin® sheet products have also kept pace with new developments in printing.

With Teslin® sheet you'll get the look and feel of quality, no matter what you print. Stand proud in the paper jungle. Choose Teslin® Sheet.

Grades of Teslin® Sheet

Teslin® SP (Synthetic Printing) Sheet
Teslin is the tradename for PPG’s silica-filled porous synthetic printing sheet. Without any other classification, SP designates our standard product line. For all grades, the numbers following the grade classification designate the thickness of the grade in mils (.001 inch). For example, Teslin
® SP 1000 sheet is our standard 10 mil (254 micron) product.
SP thicknesses available: Teslin
® SP 700, Teslin® SP 800, Teslin® SP 1000, Teslin® SP 1200, Teslin® SP 1400

Teslin® TS (Thermally Stabilized) Sheet
Thermally stabilized grades are treated to be more resistant to shrinkage when exposed to elevated temperatures. Teslin
® TS sheet works best in applications where fixed graphics are printed before printing variable data electronically with a laser printer. Typically, TS products have a shrinkage rate of less than 1% during laser printing compared to 2-3% for standard grade products at elevated temperatures. Sold for a premium of 10% over standard grades.
TS thicknesses available: Teslin
® TS 1000, Teslin® TS 1400, other thicknesses available at full master roll quantities.

Teslin® SPID Sheet
Coated to enhance transport properties in xerographic processes. Teslin
® SPID sheet is also treated to enhance thermal stability. The SPID product incorporates PPG’s best efforts to make Teslin® sheet run reliably through xerographic (especially color) processes. PPG does not, however, warranty the suitability of SPID or any other grade through specific brands of equipment. Equipment testing is recommended.
SPID thicknesses available: Teslin
® SPID 1000, Teslin® SPID 1400

Teslin® HD (High Density) Sheet
Manufactured with higher density than standard grades. Teslin
® HD sheet is generally suitable for tag and label applications which may require more stiffness and tear-resistance than standard Teslin® sheet products.
HD thicknesses available: Teslin
® HD 1400, Teslin® HD 1800

Teslin® Digital Sheet
Developed especially for the requirements of Indigo®, Omnius® and Xeikon® digital printing processes.
Digital thicknesses available: Teslin® Digital 1000

Teslin® Extended Durability Sheet
Offering enhanced or extended durability, Teslin
® Extended Durability sheet can withstand temperatures greater than 200°C for 30 minutes, making it particularly useful for molding applications. It has anywhere from nine months to one year of outdoor life before embrittlement or loss of elongation due to UV exposure, and also offers enhanced heat stability and abrasion resistance. Teslin® Extended Durability sheet sells for a premium over standard grades.
Extended Durability thicknesses available: Teslin
® Extended Durability 1200

Teslin® IJ (Ink Jet) Sheet
Coated on one side to optimize ink jet printability properties. The IJ grade gives photo-realistic image quality, extremely quick drying time, and good lamination peel strength with most dye and pigment-based inks in both wide and narrow formats.
IJ thicknesses available: Teslin
® IJ 1000
