A High-Performance Bond for Nearly Any Substrate
Thicker and stickier than traditional tapes, the 3M™ High Performance Double Coated Tape 9086 is suitable for a wide range of materials including paint, stainless steel, glass, foams and a variety of plastics. The adhesive is applied at a thick 3.5 mils on each side of the carrier for good wet-out regardless of whether the surface is smooth, rough or textured. The 0.5 mil tissue carrier conforms well to irregular surfaces and can be torn by hand for easy handling and application. This tape features a white 3.2 mil glassine paper liner which provides easy, efficient release during tape application.

Understanding Double Coated Tape
Double coated tapes are composed of a paper, film, or tissue carrier that is coated on both sides with pressure sensitive adhesive. The adhesive is protected by a peel-away liner that can be removed at the time of application or left in place until the joining surfaces are ready to be attached. Due to their dimensional stability, these double-sided tapes can be applied by hand or with a dispenser with minimal stretch or deformation. Double coated tape dispensers are available in a variety of configurations ranging from manual to fully automatic. Double coated tapes are used in a broad range of industrial applications.
